Night After Night

Lonely night hours seem revisited
By fearless enchantments from moon praisers.
No friends but thoughts I have inquisited,
I ponder deeply these sleep invaders.
My whatfors of cricket’s intricate song,
Endlessly captivated while I long.

Captivation in one breath leads deep sighs.
Merry love songs of nature start to fade.
Adventurous dreams are now in my eyes,
Insured lonely if crickets had not played.
My thanks for the company of a tone.

They’ve left me believing I’m not alone.
